Also known as ‘waterless’ Kalling’s, this solution reveals the general structure of;
- Iron +(12–30%) Chromium +(<6%) Nickel (400 Series)
- Iron +(15–30%)Chromium +(6–40%)Nickel +(<5%) other elements (Series 300)
- Ni-Cu alloys and Superalloys.
It can also be used as a General etch for Superalloy steels or for revealing the grain size of Superalloys, such as Inconel 718.
